CCF Launching New Senior Food Program
Caring Community Friends will usher in a New Senior Food Program in April 2019, as part of the Emergency Food Assistance Program. The Emergency Food Assistance Program helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans, including elderly people, by providing them with emergency food and nutrition assistance at no cost through food pantries, like CCF. The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) works to improve the health of elderly people at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA commodity foods. Under CSFP, the USDA purchases food and makes it available to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma has invited Caring Community Friends to be a partner agency for this important program, helping us fight food-insecurity among Senior Citizens in Sapulpa and the surrounding communities.
